Simplex User Guide

Note: The SNOMED CT Simplex User Guide is currently under development and will be continuously updated on this page. The first stable release of the document is planned for December 2025.

Simplex is a lightweight, web-based toolkit from SNOMED International that enables Members and Affiliates to create and manage SNOMED CT extensions quickly, easily, and at no cost.

It is designed for organizations that need a practical and affordable way to tailor SNOMED CT content—such as:

• 📂 Subsets

• 🔗 Simple maps

• 🧩 Minimal-modeled concepts

By providing a self-service, online solution, Simplex lowers both technical and financial barriers to extension management, while ensuring your extensions remain standards-compliant and ready for distribution.
